Education

Received a Doctor of Philosophy in Condensed Matter Physics from the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA), Italy, in 1996.

Work Experience

He has successively worked at the Ames National Laboratory of the US Department of Energy, the Department of Physics at Vanderbilt University, and the Division of Computer Science and Mathematics at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

In January 2005, he was appointed as a researcher and doctoral - supervisor as a selected candidate of the “Hundred - Talent Program” of the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In January 2007, he was appointed as a professor at Renmin University of China, as well as the discipline - responsible professor and convener of the Materials Calculation and Matter Simulation Team in the Department of Physics.

Research Interests

Mainly engaged in research on electronic structure calculation methods and their parallelization algorithms, molecular dynamics simulation methods, and the application of these methods in practical systems. He has also undertaken multiple scientific research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
